DOOMPH NEW YEAR EVE FREE MUSIC PARTY!

To DOOMPH! & Beyond. Press Release
The distinctive sound of DOOMPH! has conquered rooms, roofs and gardens. To DOOMPH! & Beyond sees us going to a bold new place we’ve never been to before. It’s New Year's Eve – It's time we played on the beach, Tanjong Beach Club that is. Patron XO Cafe is an extraordinary blend of ultra premium tequila and the pure, natural essence of the finest coffee, with a dry taste, not sweet as with conventional coffee liqueurs. The higher proof brings out the flavor of the pure coffee essense and the ultra premium tequila incomparable to any other.

To DOOMPH! & Beyond!, the second in a series of PATRON XO Cafe parties promises to deliver you an experience that will leave your feet tapping and your tongues flapping right into the next decade.

Let the rest of the town folk queue and clamber in claustrophobic confined spaces on the mainland. We welcome all to our very own private Idaho of a cove with space, time and stars for you to take the journey with us into the New Year, 2011.

Far from the maddening crowd we all will be with DOOMPH! residents Matty Wainwright and Brendon P. Allow yourself to be taken through all corners of the universe in a magical journey that will transcend space and time to provide hope, celebration and anticipation for the year ahead. Alongside fantastic beats, you’ll have the stars, the sand, the sea and a pristine pool to usher in 2011. Sometimes, the best things (and parties) in life really are for free.

Traversing into the unknown with us is the fabulous Starlight Alchemy bringing to you Live-Action Visual Treats with their unique performances of movements in fire and light.

The purveyors of all things pyro, this local flow arts collective use pois, staffs, hula hoops and other skill toys to mesmerize. Keep a watch for a Fire sculpture spectacle not to be missed.

Have your fortune told by Paul Pereira, tarrot card reader extraordinaire. What will the New Year bring?

Keeping with the DOOMPH! tradition, To Doomph! & Beyond is a free party with no cover, no dress codes and no fuss. "Dangerously Disco" "Dance At Your Own Risk"

Debut Album "我们是TKB" to be released soon from TKB (A New Rock Band in Town!)

A new rock band TBK will be releasing their debut album sponsored by various
companies (QWISH.com, EARTHLING, TATTOO CRAFT). Its great to see
companies supporting music here in Singapore!

Information Credits Given To Derrick Tacttooman(TBK):

新加坡摇滚乐团-TKB

Debut Album soon!---- "我们是TKB"

It's a new lease of ROck elements/factors the band discovered through
hours of rehearsing and branding.

TKB是 Nicole,Kenny,Matt,Derrick.

TKB’s musical direction summons from an array of different influences and cohesively dedicated their strengths forming dynamic rhythm, raw power and suspending melodies.

TKB can be head-banging heavy, can appear convincingly dark, can affect depressively, can trigger energetic emotions, can sound awfully angsty..

Rock is an understatement.

The soon to release self titled album 我们是 TKB also reflects a truly Singapore produce.

As recited in our mandarin pledge "我们是..."

The little reds incorporated in the album front artwork is to remind of the growing music arts culture in ‘little red dot’ Singapore and wherever this piece of hard copy goes,it is to remind of this effort produced by Singaporean, printed in Singapore, recorded in Singapore- well within high fidelity industry standards.
We are TKB, although small like Singapore but is capable of outputting loud & rude good mannerisms for all genre to pay attention to.
All good musics must be put onto tape as music will live on eternally with today’s technology.

If you need some angsty headbanging solutions, TKB may well be your dose of energy to rough it out and scream along with!

Drop TKB a visit at FB official page and watch their Introduction teaser trailers & first official release to public,titled"-黑色相片".

TKB demands your attention,if music is a huge part of your life,TKB shall rock everyone ,in mandarin,in hokkien, in english & in music, the Universal language.

Jon was instrumental in his role as Music &Events manager at House at Dempsey, creating the infamous Discopark franchise and hosting highly-successful parties featuring top-class international DJ talent. Jon has worked alongside cutting-edge international artists like Cassian, GLOVES, Edwin Van Cleef, North & South and Mr C while performing at venues like House, Tanjong Beach Club, BluJaz, KPO & Pierside. He also played a leading role in conceptualising and hosting the inaugural Fickle Gorilla pop-up club night at Little India's Post Museum – one of this year's most talked-about underground parties. Swords Are Drawn with I Am David Sparkle - An Album Launch Concert - 3 Dec 10

I Am David Sparkle (instrumental, Post Rock, Shoegaze band)
will be launching their second full-length album release
launch "Swords" this coming 3 Dec 10.

Info. on the album is shown below:(Credits to Esplande):

I Am David Sparkle takes its name from a tongue-in-cheek anglicisation of popular '70s Malaysian disco king, M. Daud Kilau. Its music however, is an entirely different beast.

Presently consisting of Amran Khamis, Djohan Johari, Farizwan Fajari and Zahir Sanosi, the band is one of the pioneers of the instrumental post-rock scene in Singapore. Since its inception in 2001, it has garnered a strong underground following in Singapore and internationally with its music and emotionally charged live sets. To date, I Am David Sparkle has played tours and festivals in countries such as Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, Hong Kong and the United States.

2010 sees the band’s release of Swords, its second full-length album on the KittyWu Records imprint, and fifth release in total after their EP The Apocalypse of Your Heart [self-released in 2006, self-released], This is the New, Nosferatu Makes Me Nervous and the Live in Houston bootleg EP. This launch will be celebrated with local audiences before the band heads off on a series of tours to Indonesia and Malaysia to share the music from their new album regionally

Well I know u are probably still thinking if u should go?
Listen to their music and your heart will
tell u if their music deserves your attention below:

SE7EN wows S'pore fans - Nov 27 2010 (Strait Times News)

Korean R&B/pop mega star Se7en landed his foot at Mandarin Gallery
(Singapore) on 26 Nov 10 night. Invited by Singtel to Singapore
for the exclusive launch of Samsung Galaxy Tab, he
gave a REALLY CRAZY performance to the public.

It was my first time to see him live here in Singapore.
What's even cooler is that I was able to test-record the
performance with my professional ZOOM Q3 recording
device! No restrictions in recording the performance at all!
Se7en Fans behind me were all screaming for him!!!

I simply waved my Se7en CD "MUST LISTEN" high
in the sky to show some support and cheer for such
a diligent and talented artist. His energetic and
engaging performance simply just blew everyone
off stage.

Me & Se7en Album "MUST LISTEN"
Obviously his strong vocals, slick dance moves &
stage presence were simply irresistible.

Did I mention that he commented "I didn't know that
Singapore women like this HOT after his La La La song performance?"
Such a wonderful man in the eyes of the ladies, isn't he? ;)

He spoke English pretty well. I guess its due to his stay in USA
to develop his music career.

Let's give support to this great artist. I wish
that he can come to Singapore to give his
own gig/concert performance in future.

Now the Mandarin Gallery Se7en performance
videos are in the uploading process for Se7en fans
and other music lovers to know about him.

Too bad...my freelance photographer was not around
to take good shots of Se7en.

Se7en fans out there! If u have any comments
about his Singapore performance or videos & pictures
to share, feel free to drop comments, videos and pics here!

Strait Times e-news article about Se7en's performance
@ Mandarin Gallery is shown below:

HORDES of screaming fans turned up at the Mandarin Gallery on Friday to see K-pop star SE7EN in his first Singapore performance.

SE7EN wowed the Orchard crowd with his five of his latest hits like Digital Bounce and Passion during the open-air concert, held to celebrate the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Tab.

'SE7EN is a huge Korean megastar, there were several hundred people at the event,' said Mr Dylan Tan, Corporate Communications Manager at SingTel, which gave the first 150 customers to purchase the 7-inch Galaxy Tab VIP tickets for the performance.

SE7EN, whose real name is Choi Dong Wook, has a successful singing career, with hit songs in Korean, Japanese and English. He also played the lead role in the Korean drama Goong S, a spin-off of the show Goong (Princess Hours).

The Samsung Galaxy Tab, currently exclusive to SingTel, uses Google's Android OS, and is one of several challengers to Apple's iPad in the tablet computer market.

ROLAND Workshop By Ed Diaz (ROLAND USA Top Synthesizer Product Specialist) - 13 Nov 10

Cannot decide? Well watch the video below:

HARMONIC OVERTONE SINGING Workshop - 20 Nov 10

Have u ever wonder if singing or music provides
therapeutic effect towards our own well-being
and health?
Here's a chance for u to find out in this
HARMONIC OVERTONE SINGING Workshop
in Nov 10:

Overtone singing, also known as overtone chanting, or harmonic singing, is a type of singing in which the singer manipulates the resonances (orformants) created as air travels from the lungs, past the vocal folds, and out the lips to produce a melody.

This technique allows the Singer to produce more than a single pitch at one time.

Overtone Singing is best known to shift the vocalist and listener to a higher states of consciousness quickly. It has been researched and recommended for its effectiveness on healing the physical body, organs and cells into alignment of harmony and relaxation.

SG Musicians Meetup at Orchard Central! 6th Nov'10 music sharing

Announcing a new Meetup for The Singapore Singers & Songwriters Meetup Group!

Hi to all!
Hope you are doing great with your music! We will be organising our next meetup at Orchard Central. If it is successful, Orchard Central will love to sponsor and host this musician meetup every Saturdays. For those who perform outstandingly, you will be given solo stage the following day (Sunday) and a token sum of up to $300 cash!

...In addition, I was told that they are going to film your individual performance on a high definition (HD) camera. This I would say is good for your personal portfolio, I can upload it and you shall tag or download the video.

Yep, that's the agreement that Orchard Central had given us. Basically the setup is acoustic base, and you can sing both original as well as cover songs. Sing your hearts out and play your instruments. I will update you guys on what sound equipments they have.

Do bring your own music equipments (e.g. guitars or keyboards etc). Let me know if anyone of you are willing to bring an electric keyboard and your personal guitar...but I saw from previous meetups most of you will bring your own guitar (no worries if you are not comfortable with sharing your equipments).

Just in case like previous times, some may message me if it is complimentary, yes it is free. This jamming session is for you! Just play and relax =)

Simply come down for this informal gathering and display your music talents...share the music together. Do RSVP asap as there will be limited availability this time round.

More details and exact meetup venue for next Saturday will only be broadcast to members who RSVP "Yes!". I will message you guys the information.

(p.s.** if you would like to perform, kindly arrive on time between 12.50pm-1.00pm as the registration for free-play will be on a first come first serve basis)

Cheers!
Jerry
