PRESS RELEASE

Angie Mattson releases new album,
Skeleton Arm, and visits Singapore

"elevating above standard folkie fare with an adroit mix of six-string feedback, a big tom backbeat, and subtle synth touches" - By Stephen Slaybaugh, LimeWire Store

"..an experimental folk/pop utopia." - Brandon Lemons, Lemonade Magazine

"..her music is filled with a near erotic intimacy: sparse, atmospheric Americana with sharp, imagistic lyrics, great guitar playing and
a velvet voice." - Neil McCormick, Daily Telegraph

From a thunderous melodic chant to
a gritty rockabilly strut,
Angie Mattson's Skeleton Arm
is cool and sophisticated with
a wild and tender heart.
Angie defies genre categorization
with this inspired work of art.
Co-produced by Mattson and guitarist
Jeff Mendel at Violet Room Studios
in Los Angeles, they confidently
weave jazz, bluegrass, and tribal
elements into a blanket of lyrical
and ethereal folk songs.

Mattson's delivery is calm and inventive,
and her elegant songwriting weaves
heartfelt stories with rich
cinematic images. Stormy vocals
sway from disarmingly intimate to
angelic and soaring as she
tastefully displays her powerful
range. Lush, swampy guitars,
haunting background vocals, and
smoking hot drums complete this
unique and warmly crafted album.

After the release of 2007's
Given to Sudden Panic and
Noisy Retreat, which was
recorded by Nathan Larson
(Shudder to Think,
A Camp) in Malmo, Sweden,
Mattson spent several months
touring the US and Canada
with bands like Uh Huh Her,
Suzanne Vega, Melissa Ferrick,
and Justin Currie.

Her song Drive was on the
book soundtrack for The Seven Rays,
and she’s had several placements in
film and television on networks like
FOX, ABC, LOGO, and IFC .

Her song Thank You was the free
Discovery Download on iTunes
with over 140,000 downloads,
and the videos for Drive
and In Violet received regular
airplay on the Logo Network
after she hosted their music
video show NewNowNext.

Already in 2010 she has
had Drive in a Mazda spot
and Cold Soul will be the
song during the closing
credits of the upcoming
thriller And Soon The
Darkness. She plans to
head back out on the
road in summer/fall 2010.

Angie will be releasing
Skeleton Arm on her own
label Radio Nine Records.

Angie Mattson grew up on
Lake Michigan, before one day
deciding to skip town for
warmer temperatures. While on
a sailboat bound for South America,
Angie taught herself to play guitar.

When plans of crossing the Pacific
were fowled by El Nino Angie
moved to Los Angeles to pursue
a career in music with the encouragement of friends
and family..... Angie currently resides in the
Highland Park area of Los Angeles

She will be visiting Singapore
as artist in residence at a new
music venue called TAB.

She will preform every night from August

THE SWEET DELUSION MUSIC CONCERT BELOW IS CANCELLED!

Tickets are going presale at $32, door $42. Limited places For tickets, email sweet.delusion.music@gmail.com or sms 83170079

Presenting the 1st ever Sweet Delusion Music (SDM). SDM aims to promote talented bands from all over the world which are not mainstream, rarely or never heard on Singapore airwaves.

This year, we're bringing (Pop Shuvit from Malaysia not coming) and Saint Loco from Indonesia. Both bands are part of the supergroup Project E.A.R, which made their debut in the 2008 MTV Asia Awards in Malaysia.

Saint Loco is a hard rock band based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Comprising of Joe Tirta [Vokal], Beery Manoch [M.C.], Iwan Hoediarto [Gitar], Gilbert Sannang [Bass], Timotius Firman [Drum]. The band released 2 albums with another one releasing this month. Influence by PapaRoach, P.O.D., R.A.T.M, Red Hot Chili Pepper, Linkin Park, Skillet, Lost Prophets expect head banging music. With awards and overseas invitational shows including Macau in their hands, Saint Loco is ready to conquer Asia.

The Otherside Orchestra consists of consists of members Wan, Izwin, Haizal, Rasheed, Angah, Azan, Shah and honorary members Rifal, Batak, Faiz and Izzat, there’s definitely strength in numbers as far as OtherSide is concerned. With such a large group, one is inclined to think their live performances would be impossible to watch. But therein lies the band’s appeal. While Wan, Izwin, Haizal, Rasheed, Angah, Azan and Shah work it on stage, Rifal provides special lighting effects to complement their music. Batak, Faiz and Izzat are in charge of sound, creating and controlling vocal effects. Suffice to say, watching this band live is unlike any other in the scene. “There are many of us in the band, and we have all kinds of sounds – sort of like an orchestra,” explains Izwin about their band dynamics. “But we’re a different kind of orchestra, the ‘other’ kind. So the [band’s] name just made sense.” With an album entitled Electromancetacy out, the band has been gigging non-stop and getting a lot of attention along the way. For a band that has only been at it for a year, being touted as an “It” band is definitely flattering. Izwin says, “We didn’t expect it because it happened so fast. But the scene is growing and people are curious to check out new bands. Besides it helps that we sound different and have so many people on stage.”

Pop Shuvit (cancelled)
Pop Shuvit was the opening act for My Chemical Romance and Tokio Hotel and they were invited to perform at Youth Olympic Games in August. Comprising Moots! (vocals), JD (guitar), AJ (bass), Rudy (drums) and Uno (turntables), the band who got its name from a skateboarding trick of almost the same name began making waves in the local music scene in late 2001 and since then, has had 4 successful releases under their belt and gained a sizable fanbase in Asia notably in Malaysia, Japan, Thailand and Singapore. Known for their adrenaline-packed live shows and eclectic blend of hip hop and rock, Pop Shuvit are being touted as Asia’s leading Hip Hop Rock band.

Inch Chua "Wallflower" Album Launch Concert Launch - 30 July 10

This talented singer-songwriter Inch Chua
is launching her new album concert in July @ Esplanade.

Among the talented songwriters who
I come across, she is definitely one who
shines and soothes your ears with
her pleasing and heartwarming vocals with
melodious original tunes and honest lyrics.

To be frank, I am pretty much surprised
that even her music album is free to be downloaded.
Yes...its true that she writes original songs and let
people download for free.

But I must salute to her that she does not even
ask people to buy her own music album.

I mean good songwriters put in so much
effort and time to write new songs and produce
new albums. Yet she gives permission for people
to download her songs for free.

U guys can download her music album for free!!!
If you really like her songs and wish to show some support,
you can catch her live in her new album concert launch recital
@ Esplanade in July.

Details can be found below.

SYNOPSIS from Sistic

If you know the music of Inch Chua, you will come to love how she playfully contrasts quirky electronic beats and alluringly acoustic songs with heartfelt lyrics. Join her in this Late Nite outing as she plays her first full length concert, featuring tunes from her debut EP The Bedroom and brand new full-length album Wallflower (both free-for-download and lovingly recorded within the four walls of her bedroom).

This is a show not to be missed as she brings a whole troupe of backing musicians known as The Metric System to add to the festivities! Being the first female singer-songwriter to represent Singapore in both South by Southwest in Austin, Texas and MIDI Festival in Beijing, China, she will be performing songs which melds her love for 60 girl-groups, introspective folk and modern day electronica.
