This performance features second year students in the Diploma in Music and Audio Technology (DMAT) program at Singapore Polytechnic. The mainly acoustic performances will showcase the students’ original compositions, and will cover an eclectic mix of styles, vocal and instrumental.

OOOM@SAM is a partnership between SAM (Singapore Art Museum), SAC and radio station Power 98. Promising talents will be identified each month and invited to Power 98's popular Acoustic Lounge sessions, where DJ Harry Corro chats with featured artistes who will get to perform over national radio. Also, guest mentors will be invited to OOOM@SAM to give constructive feedback to OOOMers serious on improving their craft.

Qian Zhou, Head of Strings at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, took the world by storm with a brilliant triumph at the Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibaud Competition in Paris where she broke all precedent in the competition’s 50-year history by winning the First Grand Prize and all the five major prizes. She is joined in this recital by pianist and director of the Conservatory, Bernard Lanskey to perform intensely passionate sonatas from three consecutive generations (Franck, Janáček and Poulenc) alongside transcriptions of six of Manuel de Falla’s popular songs.
